The Venture Summit, which doubled as a celebration for Capital Factory’s 10th Anniversary, was a culmination of its originating founders plus their vast network of mentors, investors, and entrepreneurs who they pour their time, resources, and support into. The companies reflected in their portfolio like WP Engine, Sparefoot, & Rocket Dollar are robust. Tripling in size, Capital Factory has expanded its offices to the cities of Dallas/FortWorth and Houston, bringing the total to over 90 startups in their Accelerator in 2019 alone.
The full-day summit event featured a Town Hall from Capital Factory’s Josh Baer, a fireside chat with Ted Wang of Cowboy Ventures and Kerry Rupp of TrueWealth Ventures, and a keynote from 1800-Contacts Founder (and Napoleon Dynamite producer), Jonathan Coon. The day was full of sharing and celebrating Capital Factory’s many accomplishments in 2019 and ended in an awards & accolades ceremony. The last award given was ‘Startup of the Year’, an award that is voted by the Capital Factory community. Josh Bear started off the winning announcement by saying this:
“They aren’t just amazing and kind people, but they are also hard workers looking to solve a problem that so many people have. It makes me ecstatic to see something like … Blended Sense!”
Blended Sense is a media-tech startup based in Austin, TX whose platform serves local small business owners and creative professionals. The company was founded in early 2019 and resides in the Accelerator at the Capital Factory, an organization known as ‘The center of gravity for entrepreneurship in Texas’. Its founders Abigail Rose, Albert Baez, and Georgina Elizondo Griffin are already leading the way in both content creation and media tech innovation.
The company seeks to match the right creative professionals to the right projects locally in order to produce and distribute quality content, quickly. They saw that the creative supply chain of today’s marketing sphere is outdated and disconnected in a time when creative services are in high demand because content has rapidly become the cornerstone of marketing for every industry. Quality creative services are not available to the small business owner and creative professionals are undervalued by traditional agencies. Blended Sense is here to change all of that and more.
This news could not arrive at a better time. The trio is mid raise on a pre-seed and actively seeking investors for what they are calling a Christmas Miracle. Bootstrapped and scrappy, this team has built their company on an initial 30k from their advisors. They now have set their sights on scaling, releasing the MVP of their web app, and growing their creative professional’s network.
